Absaroka Energy is developing Modular Pumped Storage Hydro projects that can provide renewable energy generation to support the resiliences of the electrical systems in our communities at a smaller scale than traditional Pumped Storage Hydro facilities. Modular PSH utilizes water tanks that require a simple and inexpensive foundation and can be sized to suit different durations of power needs. These facilities are between 5-50 MW in size with 8-24 hr storage capacity and can be deployed in areas where tradition PSH is not feasible.

Modular PSH projects are largely comprised of “off-the-shelf” components and have been specifically designed for installation in locations with minimal footprint and visual impacts. The innovative characteristics of mPSH extend the locational options, allow it to be deployed quickly and affordably, and increase the development capabilities to a wider range of users. Modular PSH allows for private ownership and use while preserving the long lifespan, long duration storage, and robustness of the proven Pumped Storage Hydro technology.
